Music Makers Terms and Conditions

Music Makers – Terms and Conditions – Updated October 2022

Sessions

At Music Makers, we want to ensure that both you and your little one(s) have a magical time together. Our sessions are relaxed and social, however, to show respect for the whole group, we ask that general chatter throughout the 40 minute session be kept to a minimum to enable the children to fully engage with the musical activities. Children learn through imitation so please give your child your full attention and teach them to participate in the activities by doing so yourself, however if your baby or toddler simply observes, they are still experiencing the session.

Below is some important information to help keep you and your little one safe at our sessions. Please read it through carefully:

Please do not arrive any more than ten minutes early for your session as leaders will be sanitising and preparing the venue ready for use. However please aim to be there and ready as close to the start time as possible, as bookings at venues are often back to back and so sessions need to start on time. However we do understand that last minute nappy changes can throw your timing right out of the window! We’ve been there too!

Please use the hand sanitiser provided on entry to the premises.

Spaces will be marked out with mats around the room, endeavouring to provide each family with some personal space. For young babies attending who may spend a lot of time lying down, we would recommend bringing an extra blanket to lay on top of your mats to ensure your little one stays warm and comfortable throughout the session.

Our sessions are centred around the use of personal music kits which are a fantastic way of giving your little a variety of resources that they will soon become very familiar with, whilst enabling them to explore sound making in their own way and time and allowing them to discover their own favourites. Our kits also allow you to continue your music-making at home with your little one in between sessions! They also help provide your best level of protection against cross-contamination. Little ones will always chew and mouth resources, no matter how much they are discouraged and, though we do of course wash and sanitise all spare and enhancement resources, there is no better assurance that nasties aren’t being shared than by having your own personal kit to use. You have the option to either purchase one of our specially created music kits, which are designed to be as affordable as possible whilst still providing children with a good selection of resources, or alternatively you are welcome to bring along some of your own instruments from home in a little bag instead.

If you wish to purchase one of our music kits, you can do so via our online shop on our website: https://musicmakers.fun/shop/ or you can simply add one to your booking. Either way, your kit will be ready and waiting for you at your very first session.

Venues will be kept ventilated throughout our sessions so please do ensure your little one (and yourself!) have sufficient layers to keep warm and happy on colder days.

Strictly NO FOOD should be consumed at any point during the sessions please, with the exception of baby milk, as part of our Infection Prevention and Control measures. If your baby sleeps, becomes restless, needs feeding or changing during the session, please feel free to attend their needs and then rejoin the group when ready. Nappy changing should only take place within the designated toilet facilities at each of our venues please and soiled nappies should be taken back home to dispose of please wherever there are no specific nappy disposal units at venues.

Photography – You are very welcome to take photographs of your little one during our sessions and if you share them on your social media pages, please do tag us in @musicmakersnorthants as we love to see them too! However, please be mindful that some families do not wish their little ones images to be shared online and so, to protect everyone’s interests, please ensure you do not include names or faces of other little ones in the images you share. Thank you.

Bookings are made with the general assumption that only one adult per booking will attend regularly, though we can make occasional exceptions if requested in advance by message or email. The reason for this is if all families were to have two adults attending a session then we would not be able to offer families a respectful amount of personal space. However, we do love to see partners or a grandparent popping along to visit a session so we will always endeavour to accommodate any such requests, when capacity will allow.

You MUST NOT ATTEND your session if you feel unwell, have any COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19.

And finally, payments are for termly blocks only and so any missed sessions due to holidays or illness of yourself or your little one cannot be refunded or credited. In the event of a lockdown, classes will move to taking place online. In the event of your class leader being unwell and a cover leader not being available, the session will be either rolled over or cancelled and therefore credited to your account for future use or refunded.

Thank you for your support and cooperation in making our sessions a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone!
